UP2030 Review Meeting in Brussels: Reflecting on 18 Months of Progress

The meeting in Brussels set the stage for the next big step: Prototyping

Last week, the UP2030 team came together in Brussels for our first project review, marking 18 months of collaboration and innovation. This milestone offered an opportunity to reflect on the strides we’ve made so far and chart the course for the exciting phases ahead.

The heart of our efforts has been the implementation of the 5UP approach—an urban planning framework designed to drive sustainable transformations in cities. We're proud to see this approach taking root across several cities, including Budapest, Grannollers, Lisbon, Milan, Rotterdam, Thessaloniki, Zagreb, Belfast, Istanbum and Rio de Janeiro. Each of these cities brings unique challenges and opportunities, yet all are united in the goal of building resilient, inclusive urban spaces.

The meeting in Brussels not only highlighted our collective achievements but also set the stage for the next big step: prototyping. This is where our ideas and strategies will begin to take tangible shape, creating real impact in our partner cities.

Our journey so far has been filled with learning, collaboration, and a shared commitment to sustainability. We’re excited about what’s to come and look forward to continuing our mission to reimagine the future of cities.
